I ask myself, what the hell is going on? Why didn’t the NFL put more pressure on the Baltimore Ravens to keep asking for the security tape from the casino and the authorities? Even the owner himself in a letter to share holders admitted to
Stopping the investigation and pursuing the security footage.
Why? Well, the only reason that I can think of is that the Ravens didn’t want to lose one of its best players. While I agree that he should be given the benefit of the doubt, stopping all investigation until the authorities render a verdict is unheard of. That’s the reputation of the Ravens and the NFL on the line.
For heaven’s sake there’s no excuse for hitting the one that you love (or anyone for that matter). Its one thing to argue, but to behave like a Neanderthal and resort to violence is horrifying and inexcusable especially someone in the public eye and a representative of a professional organization.
Personally, I’m happy that the Ravens did fire him (he deserved what he got, IMO). I suppose that better to take action late than not to take action at all. With all the financial resources that the NFL has, I don’t understand why they didn’t pursue the security footage more vigorously.
The NFL commissioner did release a statement that he didn’t see the footage right away (OK, we all know that already) therefore, action was taken late. Uhm… Just like a politician. Dodge the question (SMH). As I already said, I suppose late action is better than no action.
In the ending, no matter if the NFL and the Ravens took action late or not, the important thing is that they did take action in my opinion. I for one don’t believe in violence, I feel that everything can be talked out if both sides are intelligent, patient, and want to resolve the conflict without violence.
