Hi uncle i got a hold of mommies phone. Did not want you to forget what i look like. I love you. Ok mommy is coming. Bye bye uncle
On July 25th, 2014 WPTV in Palm Beach reported that Thomas Mcguinness, a Southern Florida native had posted a picture of himself on Facebook pointing a semi-automatic sidearm at a the head of a cat that he held helplessly by the scruff of the neck. When seen by users of the social media site, it caused an outcry causing the social media giant to take the photo down from their site. He also went on twitter stating that he didn’t know why everyone was so upset over a cat that they had shot only twice. Apparently someone had even reported this to local law enforcement in Florida.
Animal Control Law Enforcement is looking to find this person for questioning. If you have any knowledge of this person’s whereabouts please contact local law enforcement. Appearently, he also posted a picture of him pointing what looked like the same sidearm to the head of a dog. If you wish to view the article that this comes from the link is below:
Why would anyone hurt or kill a defenseless animal that hasn’t done anything to deserve it? Isn’t it enough that some shelters kill unwanted animals? The Hawaiian Humane Society is one such entity that the Honolulu City Council supports with taxpayer’s dollars. I didn’t vote for those heartless people. They do have a choice now that the Oahu SPCA has opened on the island in Kailua. They are a NO KILL shelter.
Anyhow, I hope that they catch this guy and charge him with animal cruelty.
Just as Tara The Hero Cat captured the hearts of Americans when she rescued her human “brother” from an attacking dog, Smudge in Doncaster, England rescued her human when he was being picked on by bullies. Ethan Fenton, his owner was playing in the yard when the bullies approached and began to harass him. Before his mother whom was watching over them could react, Smudge leaps out from under the family vehicle and pounced on the tallest bully’s chest. Taken by surprise, the bully cries and runs away his friends in tow. His mother says that smudge now sleeps outside the door keeping guard when Ethan sleeps.
Smudge has been nominated for his bravery for the bravest cat award. As I’ve said before in my other posts, cats can protect their families as well. The case in California wasn’t a fluke. While dog owners will argue that they can’t protect as well as dogs, I feel that cats are just as loyal and protective of their human families as dogs. They’re much more clean as well.
How many times I go walking in my neighborhood and I see dog feces on the ground that the owners failed to pick up as it is their responsibility. Deep in the heart of Honolulu, dog owners petitioned and got land taken from a public park for a dog park. They make the majority suffer for a small group of people. In the area they got the dog park in has no single family homes, only condos and apartments. I feel that generally dogs are high maintenance creatures that have owners that are too lazy to pick up after them after they do their business. Not only is it disgusting, it’s a health hazard. I feel that none of this is the dog’s fault, it’s their owner(s). If you want a dog, buy a house, and live in the suburbs. Simple as that. OK, my rant is done.
Anyhow, as I said before getting off track, cats can guard their families just as well as dogs, this case supports my argument. As always, I’m not here to start flame wars, or arguments, I am just presenting my thoughts on the subject. All images are copyright their perspective holders. Thanks for reading. 🙂
Puppy and Kitten mills are inhumane and should be outlawed. To my knowledge, there is no law in the United States outlawing the mills. The conditions in those mills are inhumane. The people whom run these establishments don’t care about the welfare of the animals, they only care about profit.
You must be asking, “What can I do to help?” The best and easiest way to help is to adopt don’t shop when you want a pet. Encourage others to do the same. If everyone adopts and boycott pet stores that sell pets, those mills won’t be able to sustain themselves and shut down.
Animals especially the ones that humans have domesticated are important because they rely on us for thier care. Please don’t euthanize, spay and nuter instead as well. Those cats and dogs have just as much right to live as any human does.
Anyhow, thank you for reading, and I urger everyone to adopt don’t shop. ☺
Here are the top 10 reasons why I like cats:
- They don’t smell as bad as dogs.
- I don’t have to walk a cat so it can use the restroom (OK, I’m lazy like that).
- No wet dog smell.
- They’re affectionate with head bonks and rubbing up against you.
- No slobbery dog kisses.
- They do tricks (my friend’s cat is able to play fetch with plastic bottle caps).
- Cats purr (I find it relaxing).
- You don’t have to show them affection all the time (only when the cat wants you to).
- You have a built in kitty alarm clock (not always a good thing, but at least you know you won’t sleep in :P).
- You can use them as warm, furry, cuddly, and purring heating pads (this is one of my most favorite things).
I have many more reasons why I like cats, those are just my top 10. 🙂 I grew up with cats even though I never owned one. Family members and friends had cats so I went over to play with their cats. Sometimes I feel that cats are tiny humans in fur that purr, and that they’re more human than most humans are.
I also feel that cat is man’s best friend. I know that many dog lovers will disagree, but in the case of Tara the Hero Cat, I tend to disagree. The Anti-Cruelty Society agrees that the cat can be man’s new best friend. Now, I’m not here to start a debate or a flame war of what animal is better. I am writing this from my own point of view. Feel free to leave some of your reasons why you like cats in the comments. I’d love to see them. 🙂
Apparently a service dog on a US Airways flight caused the pilot to divert and make an emergency landing due to the smell of the Dog’s feces in the plane after it had defecated in the plane not once, but TWICE. Woah, dude what did you feed your dog (LOL!)? I understand the importance of service animals, but if I was on that flight, I wouldn’t have been very happy with the animal’s owner or the Airline for allowing an animal aboard that couldn’t control it’s bowel movements. OMG, POOP Flight 200. Anyhow…
Oh yes, I can just imagine it… I’m on the flight when I start smelling something and start to think to myself “what the hell is that smell?” Then as the smell gets worse, I get sick and throw up into a barf bag. Gross. lol Then the captain comes on the intercom saying that due to circumstances beyond their control they will be diverting to a near by airport to make an emergency landing. If I was the guy getting the call in the tower, I’d be like you need an emergency landing for what? Say again? I don’t think I could keep myself from laughing. Ugh, funny and gross all at the same time.
